Overall it was a great experience. Easy pick-up and drop- off. In addition, it was the cheapest rental that I could find for a one-way trip. Great job AVIS.

Great rental experience. Car ready and clean when I arrived. After stopping by the desk to show i.d., it was just a short walk to the lot. If you're dropping off before regular business hours, be sure to note particulars on your rental agreement envelope and put it and keys in dropbox at the counter.
I recently rented an SUV from Avis at the Gulfport, MS airport. I was unhappy to learn that I would be charged mileage for miles I drove over 300. I knew I would exceed the 300 because I was driving from Gulfport to Jackson and back. I decided to look into other rental companies to see if I could avoid the mileage charge. Dollar had mid-size cars for about $200 with no mileage. I discovered, however, that I had pre-paid for my Avis car, so I went back to the Avis counter and completed my transaction. When I returned the car yesterday, I was very happy to see that even with the extra mileage the total was still about $50 less than I would have paid Dollar for a mid-size car (rather than the comfortable SUV I had through Avis). I will definitely look at Avis the next time I need to rent a car!
