When their last donation was turned in at the end of the month, Team Select Specialty Hospital - Gulf Coast had raised over $3,900.00 and was the top team in Harrison and Jackson counties on the Mississippi Gulf Coast! After two months of no noticeable improvement the decision was made to transfer me to Select Specialty Hospital. Three weeks with the committed to my care by a family oriented staff- I am going home to my family to finish recovering

I am preparing now to go home after six weeks of hospitalization for copd, m.a.c. and pneumonia. I was so miserable I wasn't even aware of how really miserable I was! But, I don't believe I would've recovered as well as I have had I been in any other hospital. Being quite a hospital snob having spent decades involved with all manner and type, I can very assuredly say Select Specialty offers a program for each individual patient. The entire staff is a team whose goal is complete dedication to all manners of improving the patient as a whole entity....not just "body parts". Co-operation, interfacing and sharing are integral into acquiring as much knowledge as possible for diagnosis. It is also true for treatment. Seems the "word of the day" is: in order to make a well informed decision, everyone at every level is encouraged to participate in the best interest of the patient....be it doctor or dietician, aid or therapist. I've been overwhelmed by my "own team" and their dedication to me and my well being. This is the second time in three years I've been a patient here so I can speak for their consistency as well. At two critical times in my life I've been exactly where I needed to be surrounded by these people. I've never experienced this elsewhere. I would encourage, endorse, recommend Select to any patient who requires intense long term care.
all of the staff we,re very professional and kind and explained everything in a way i could understand. the nurses doctors and all other staff took time to get to know me and did their jobs the way they were supposed to do them.when an issue arrived they did everything they could do in a timely manner to resolve the issue.i do feel that there needs to be more than one type of urostomy and colostomy ordered for patients that wear them so that patients can choose the right type of urostomy and colostomy to where while they,re a patient here everyone can,t always bring the urostomy or colostomy they wear at home also i would like to see more food and beverage options for people with diet restrictions such as calorie restrictions and sugar restrictions but also for people with other diet restrictions

Who hasn't heard 'there is no place like home'. Especially when ill, we want to be with our family. If true, Select Specialty Hospital, in Gulfport, MS, is the next best place to home and family for recovery. A simple overnight procedure in another hospital, left me critically ill in ICU.
I had the pleasure of working with John O-Keefe and the staff at Select Specialty Hospital in Gulfport during their Relay for Life fundraising campaign. For a full month, the staff participated in fun and creative ways to raise money for the American Cancer Society. It was so impressive to see the way they worked as a team to help those affected
