We decided to stop at the golden corral for dinner. Chose pot roast and veggies. Wasn't much left.. So I asked the cook standing close if there was any more coming up. He said 2 minutes. Oh great as its my favorite. So I sat down started eating. What I was able to get.... Of the pot roast. What I didn't expect was thinking I was biting into cabbage and veggies... Was 2 pieces of PLASTIC. Soooooo.... Thoroughly disgusted. My stomach turned. I am thinking if I am biting into PLASTIC... What else could be in the food! I showed the server the plastic... And she told the manager. The manager walked over and just acted like it was no big deal. Oh that's what they wrap the pot roast in. He was chuckling and acting like nothing happened. I shown my concern of the possibility of anything else... He said oh we make sure that nothing gets in the food ... Yet I had plastic on mine. The lack of caring and concern. No attempt to make it right... I was disgusted and the only thing he did rapidly was to remove my plate once he saw us taking pics of it.... Then the servers were watching us and the whole experience left me with the opinion. I would not come back. If the manager had made any attempt to make it right....it would of made all the difference. But he didn't. I won't be back.
We walked in to a nice hostess and then it went south! First of all it took us a few minutes to find clean plates and utensils. I get to the buffet and start making my plate and the manager comes up to the buffet and gets a breakfast sandwich from the brunch items, picks it up with his hands and carries it to his office and starts eating it. No plate or napkin in hand! We sit down to eat and notice that our fried chicken and fish were raw! So I don't suggest this place at all!!
Most of the food was delish and hot, however certain dishes should have been sampled before placing them on the line. It was an insult to the staff who actually cared enough to prepare the food that was worth eating. Not complaining, but you win some and lose some I guess. Overall I'd eat there again. Been there maybe 3-4 time within the 2 years we've been here. To the staff that's cares, keep doing what you're doing!
This place has gone downhill over the years. Wait staff is rude and lazy and the dining room and restrooms are disgusting! All these people giving it a 4 or 5 rating must work there, be family members, or I would hate to see their houses. Every surface in the dining room is super grimy. You can SEE the greasy dirt on the wooden surfaces of the tables, chairs, napkin holders. It's just gross. I'd hate to see the kitchen. I have no idea how they can pass a health department inspection. Seriously.
Great staff, everyone was very friendly. We had to wait for the shrimp to finish cooking and the cook was very entertaining. Very clean Golden Corral, they kept the buffet clean and the food was hot.
